Privacy policy

1. Controller

The controller for processing related to Weedli at weedli.ch is Andreas Haslbeck, St. Gallerstrasse 22, 9400 Rorschach, Schweiz. Email: datenschutz@haslbeck.ch.

2. Scope

This policy applies to Weedli under Swiss data protection law and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

7. Hosting and server logs

Weedli runs on self-managed infrastructure in the European Union. IP address, timestamp, requested resource and technical log data may be processed for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention, normally for 30 days.

8a. Advertising, cookies and consent

Weedli is free and funded by advertising through Google AdSense. For people in Switzerland and the EEA the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, which acts as an independent controller.

Google and third-party vendors approved by Google use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage or device identifiers to serve ads, measure their delivery and performance, prevent fraud and abuse and – only with consent – personalise ads based on previous visits to this or other websites. This may involve the IP address, device and browser information, the page visited, the time, cookie identifiers and interactions with ads.

On the first visit, a Google consent dialog asks whether cookies and personalised ads may be used. It is a consent management platform certified by Google under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. Without consent, at most non-personalised or limited ads are shown. Your choice is stored on your device so the dialog does not appear on every visit.

Consent is voluntary and can be changed or withdrawn at any time with effect for the future via the “Datenschutzeinstellungen” (privacy settings) link on the website or the settings icon shown by Google.

Where the GDPR applies, personalised advertising and non-essential access to your device are based on consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and other ad delivery on the legitimate interest in funding the free service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

More information: How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. You can also turn off personalised ads from Google in Google Ads Settings and from other vendors at youronlinechoices.eu.

10. Recipients and international transfers

The self-managed infrastructure is located in the European Union and therefore outside Switzerland. Applicable safeguards are used where required. Personal data is not sold.

For advertising (section 8a), data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

11. Retention and deletion

Server logs are generally kept for no more than 30 days.

Cookies and similar entries set by Google and third-party vendors have lifetimes defined by the respective provider. Your consent choice is stored until you change it, delete it in your browser or are asked again.

12. Security

Connections use HTTPS/TLS. Appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are applied.

13. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, individuals may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. Requests may be sent to datenschutz@haslbeck.ch. Complaints may be submitted to the Swiss FDPIC or the competent EU authority.

14. Changes

This policy is updated when functions or processing activities change. The version published at this URL applies.
